MEETING PROGRAM: Julia Morgan and The Monday Club
Two experts on Julia Morgan will tell us about Miss Morgan, her work and her relationship with The Monday Club. This special program will be presented by:
Laura Sorvetti, archivist at Cal Poly's Special Collections and Archives. She coordinates the archives' reference and instructional programs and stewards the archival collections, including the Julia Morgan architectural archives, University records, and historic records of Central Coast communities.
Jennifer Shields, Associate Professor in the Architecture Department at Cal Poly and a Registered Architect in North Carolina. Her research and teaching are interdisciplinary, looking at how we as individuals and communities are impacted by the built environments we inhabit. She recently curated the exhibition “Julia Morgan, Architect: Challenging Convention” at the Cal Poly University Art Gallery.
