    Member Activity - Succulent Pumpkins

Please see below for a list of items to bring.

Let's gather to create a living succulent pumpkin you can use throughout the fall season and as a centerpiece for Thanksgiving. It will last for many months if kept outside after the holidays. The pumpkin eventually rots, and then you can transplant the succulents into a pot or the soil.

    Please provide your own pumpkin

Ones with flat tops are best, such as Cinderella pumpkins. You can also bring several of the mini pumpkins in lieu of the large pumpkins.

Painted Pumpkins: Some like to spray paint pumpkins for the holidays . Colors that work well are copper, silver and/or gold. You can then use them for the Christmas season by adding a few ornaments! If interested, spray your pumpkins before coming to the class. NO glitter or glitter paint, please.

    Some Succulents will be provided

Some succulents will be provided, however, if you can, please bring cuttings from home or bring mini succulents (you can purchase at local garden centers...as many as you can!

It takes anywhere from 20-50 succulents per pumpkin. Any size OK. The more variety we have the better! You can also bring dried moss, leaves, acorns, dried seed pods, etc. to add to your succulent display.

    Items you’ll need to bring:

    • Pumpkin (If you can’t find one, just let us know. We can get an extra for you.)
    • Succulents
    • Garden clippers
    • Glue gun and glue sticks
    • A box to carry your completed project home!

    Monday Club Living History Tours

Walk-in tours (individuals and groups less than 10 persons)
Registration is not necessary - everyone is welcome.

When you enter the doors of the Julia Morgan designed Monday Club you will walk with docents who will take you back to the 1920's and 30's where the Depression was affecting every household, prohibition was in full swing, and women had just been given the right to vote. It was a time of social, forward-thinking women dedicated to civic duty to serve their community, to give a voice to the underserved and to strengthen the lives of those who had previously not found a place of community.

Here you will learn about the intersecting lives of early pioneer club members and their connection with Julia Morgan. Experience the Architecture of this very talented and overlooked woman that was awarded the first female architectural license in California as well as the first woman to receive the certificate of architecture from The Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.

Tours run approximately one hour in length. Doors open to the public every 2nd and 3rd Mondays, from 1:00-4:00pm, unless otherwise scheduled.

These tours are for groups smaller than 10. For larger groups, including school classes, clubs, organizations contact Docent Coordinators Brooke Meek or Liz Ruderman-Miller.
